Glenn M. Rich M.D.
Dr. Glenn Rich is a board-certified Diplomate in Internal Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. He graduated from Cornell University Medical College and has been in private practice since 1992. Dr. Rich did his internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s Hospital, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, and his fellowship in Endocrinology and Hypertension at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. He completed the CME pathway to become a Diplomate in Obesity Medicine. This designation represents the highest level of achievement in the specialty of obesity medicine.
Dr. Rich enjoys practicing Endocrinology, Obesity Medicine and Internal Medicine. Dr. Rich specializes in treating diabetes, thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, metabolic syndrome, sexual dysfunction, osteoporosis and obesity. He has been honored as a Connecticut Magazine “Top Doc” in Endocrinology by his peers annually since 2010, and has also been recognized as a “Top Doc” in Internal Medicine. Both the American Diabetes Association and the Diabetes Recognition Program of the National Committee for Quality Assurance have recognized Dr. Rich for providing quality care to his patients with diabetes. He has started the new Weight Control Center at Fairfield County Medical Group, which takes a multidisciplinary approach to managing patients with obesity, providing evidence-based, compassionate care. Dr. Rich advocates a lifestyle that promotes long-term health, including a Mediterranean-type diet and regular exercise.
Dr. Rich enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He loves family camping trips and they have gone as far as Newfoundland seeking new adventures. Dr. Rich is an avid runner who has qualified for and completed the Boston Marathon five times and is looking forward to running his third New York City Marathon in 2016.
